Bespoke Privacy & Cookie Policies for your business

Why must you have a Privacy & Cookie Policy?

All businesses, charities or sole traders processing, using, storing or sharing personal data must provide the individuals to which that personal data relates, with information about how that data is used. It has been law under the Data Protection Act, and now further requirements have been layered on top by the new General Data Protection Regulation.

These requirements can be sufficiently fulfilled by providing your customers, clients, service users and other individuals with a Privacy Policy, also known as a Privacy Notice. The Information Commissioners Office (ICO) promotes a layered approach to providing privacy information. This means you may provide privacy information in various locations and potentially in different formats and lengths to ensure individuals always have easy access to the relevant information. For example, you may provide a few sentences before collecting an email address on your website, with a link to a full Privacy Policy elsewhere; or even a video explaining how you use data.

Providing privacy information is not only fulfilling a legal requirement, but it is also a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your high standards of business, trustworthiness, honesty, transparency and good customer service; to build a strong relationship with individuals so that they will continue to use your services or purchase your products.

In order to succeed in achieving this however, your Privacy Policy must be legally compliant, factually reliable, 100% bespoke to your processes, in-keeping with the style of your website and marketing tone of voice, written for your audience (especially if they are children, parents or elderly) clear, easy to understand and transparent.

A fantastic opportunity to demonstrate your high standards of business, trustworthiness, honesty, transparency and good customer service; to build a strong relationship with individuals so that they will continue to use your services or purchase your products.
